We had a busy weekend of Region Band Auditions and admittedly, I took the day off yesterday so the update is coming a day later than usual.

Winter Concert
Our annual Winter Concert is this week on Thursday December 9th. The concert will begin at 7:00pm. Call time for students is 6:00pm in the Band Hall.
The concert will feature performances by our instrument “choirs” instead of traditional concert band ensembles. It’s a fun format and allows our students to get experience on some of the extended members of their instrument family.
The attire for the concert is “Sunday Best”. Please make sure all attire choices are compliant with the Klein ISD Dress Code. All students are required to attend and perform. There are no eligibility requirements for this performance so we expect to have every student with us.
Spring Semester Auditions
Over the course of the next week students will be completing their auditions for Spring Semester placement. These auditions allow us to evaluate each student and ensure that their ensemble placement for UIL Concert & Sight Reading Evaluations is accurate and appropriate. All instruments, except for trombones, will complete their audition in class. Here is the scheduled audition day for each instrument.
- Wednesday December 8th- Trombones 3:15pm
- Friday December 10th (during class)- Clarinet & Bass Clarinet, Trumpet, Double Reeds, Euphonium, Tuba, F Horn
- Monday December 13th (during class)- Flute, Saxophones
The Spring Semester Audition will be used as the Final Exam for all Wind players and is required for all students.
KCBA Board Position Vacancies
We currently have openings for the following positions. If you would like to know more about what each role entails reach out and I can provide that information for you.

I really need some parents to serve in these roles and time is running out to get the positions filled. Please consider if you can serve in one of those roles and if you are able to serve, contact me directly via email so we can get your name on the slate of nominations. None of the jobs are particularly time or labor intensive, especially in the spring semester. And you will have support from the outgoing officers until the end of the school year as well.
