Alexa Thibodeaux

Biography

Ms. Thibodeaux assumed the role of Director of Bands after spending 2 years as the Associate Director of Klein Collins High School. Before joining the team at KC, Ms. Thibodeaux taught at Channelview High School where she served as the Associate Band Director from 2016-2022. Before Channelview ISD, she was the Assistant Band Director at Morris Middle School in Pasadena ISD from 2014-2016. Ms. Thibodeaux has received consistent UIL sweepstakes awards during her time teaching in both marching and concert band

Ms. Thibodeaux directs the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Concert Band while also leading the French Horn, Trumpet, Double Reed, and Clarinet methods courses. She also co-directs the Full Orchestra and Musical.

Ms. Thibodeaux is a native of the Houston area. She graduated from Fort Bend ISD before attending the University of Houston where she participated in the Symphonic Winds, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Opera Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Cougar Brass, and Spirit of Houston Marching Band. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from UH with her Bachelors in Music Education in 2014. Ms. Thibodeaux primarily plays the French Horn and has played with numerous ensembles across the city such as the Pasadena Philharmonic Orchestra, Sugar Land Winds, Clear Lake Symphony, Civic Symphony, Cypress Symphonic Band, and more. She has been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to perform at the BOA Honor Band Contest, Texas Music Educators Association Convention, Midwest Convention, the Texas Band Masters Association Convention, as well as within the Hobby Center and Jones Hall during a side-by-side concert with the Houston Symphony.

Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Associations, the Texas Band Masters Association, and Kappa Kappa Psi Service Fraternity.
